FruitsiclesReprinted from Feeding the Whole Family by Cynthia Lair (Sasquatch Books, 2008)
You can buy Popsicle holders in the summertime at most stores that carry toys or kitchenware. Dream up an endless variety of frozen treats to delight sun-soaked children and adults. The holders we used required ½ cup of liquid each, so to make 6 fruitsicles 3 cups of liquid are needed. Freeze for at least 2 hours. Run warm water on the outside of the holder until the pop pulls out easily. You can also use ice-cube trays to make iced fruit cubes for children to suck.Creamy Orange-Vanilla Pops2 cups orange juice 1 cup vanilla yogurt 1 teaspoon vanilla
Blend all ingredients in a blender, pour in holders leaving ½ “ at the top of the holder and freeze.Banana Coconut Pops3 ripe bananas (1 ½ cups mashed) 1 ½ cup coconut milk ¼ cup maple syrup
Blend all ingredients in a blender, pour in holders leaving ½ “ at the top of the holder and freeze.
Here's two more simple ideas: Juicesicles 3 cups juice (raspberry, grape, cherry, pomegranate, tropical)
Melonsicles 3-4 cups of melon chunks (cantaloupe or honeydew) ¼ cup water
Blend all ingredients in a blender, pour in holders, and freeze. |

If only I could have OJ, milk or yogurt! Might try a day's worth of Coffee Rich -- I wouldn't eat them all at once!! Seeing you like smoothies, I thought you might like these. Love 'ya! BB

This brings back memories. My mom used to do the juice cycles for us when we were kids. I loved grape juice the most. Probably because it is so sweet...

My favorite is to use frozen organic fruit. A banana, at least a cup of frozen blueberries, a handful of raspberries when in season or , some organic soy milk (I use the vanilla flavor but then it would probably be fine using the unsweetened)and blend. I use my Vita Mix but regular blender will do, I'm sure. A few seconds later I have my mouthwatering concoction. Now I just need to find some Popsicle containers....
