Feeding the Young Athlete is almost here (squeeeal)

fya_waypastcrazy

I’m way past crazy about sharing some of the pages from my bold new version of Feeding the Young Athlete will hit the bookstores (online and off!) in just TWO WEEKS!  The new look is vibrant and youthful and you’ll love the practicality of this book if you have kids that play sports.  Easily graspable concepts.  Whimsical artwork, loads of top ten lists, and (of course) RECIPES.

Practice is only part of a winning sports strategy. Whole foods have to be part of the playbook to increase energy, endurance, and focus, both on and off the field. What to eat and when to eat, pre-game, during and afterwards? How much fluid do you need to be hydrated? What to eat when you’re on the road? These are critical answers to have for young athletes, competing on a demanding schedule and eating on the run.

And what better way to  get kids to tune in to how food makes their body feel than the immediacy of eating to play well?  Well that’s what I thought anyway.

Plus, in this new version I got to tell some of the funny stories of being a soccer mom for 14 years.  More about this coming….

  2. Finally! I promised a copy to my sister in law summer of 2011. I was about to purchase the old version but I noticed a new version was available for pre-order. I have been waiting since then. I am very excited about your new version since I enjoyed the old version a lot.

  6. I cannot believe that I found this website. The front page of our newspaper today talks about how horrible our school lunch program is, as far as taste and health. As a new nutrition consultant I have been on a mission to find the best foods for students and athletes in our hometown schools, and a way to present this information. I am so excited about your book and can’t wait to try every recipe :}
