Just My Opinion
Just My Opinion by Steve
I often ride the ferry. Part of my ritual is to play the vintage Pac Man machine once every trip. It’s the only video game I’ve ever played, and though I’m not good at it, I find it teaches me to take early steps to avoid trouble, and not be greedy. Here’s my opinion. Parents who aren’t going to give their children money to play Pac Man should keep them away from the machine.
Little children are drawn to the machine as if it were Santa Claus, to play with the knobs, often drooling, not from anticipation, but because they have colds. I do not relish the role of the old man who shoves little kids aside so he can play a video game. I watch from a distance, smoldering. Some day I will grow up. But for now, keep quarterless children away from video machines. And wipe their noses. Just my opinion.

I think it is boring and uninspiring for people to continuously complain about the inconveniences of using public transportation. Going out into the world means interacting with other people, including children, and including germs (be them from adults or children). Would you rather these children be screaming? I have seen many children enjoying the video games on the ferries (especially the driving one) without money. I have also seen their parents distract the children whenever someone with money wants to play these games with money.
There are plenty of annoying things that other people do. Pack your patience when using any form of public transportation and possibly even enjoy seeing sweet children enjoying something so simple without even having to put a quarter in!
