Have you ever considered about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything. But think of if you added some great images or video clips to give your posts more, "pop"! Your content is excellent but with images and videos, this site could certainly be one of the very best in its field. Fantastic blog!

I know...I know...one day late. But, I'm commenting anyway. I have to share that on this frosty morning, graced by a low yet warming sun, I found a few remaining fronds of dinosaur kale. My thyme has also survived thus far. Both joined eggs from my own chickens in a lovely little breakfast bake.

When our little ladies go into hiatus, we visit the Skagit for lush produce, enjoying the great variety. We plan to visit farms this year to learn about their magic of growing tomatoes and other dry climate crops. I know that they do so sustainably and in a manner that supports bees and other beneficial insects.

Kudos to the Skagit farmers - we'll continue supporting you as a supplement to our own garden and chicken adventures.

I remember those Skagit River eggs and sausage and kindness from my days in Seattle. Now I live in Colorado and love the community building and fun farming at 63rd Street Farm.

I grow many of my own vegetables, but also buy from local farmers, both at the Athens (OH) Farmers Market, and from local groceries that stock their food. My daughter is the CSA manager at Green Edge Organic Gardens, so this time of year we are enjoying lots of microgreens, mushrooms, and hardy greens that they grow in their unheated greenhouses. So Green Edge is my favorite right now, when I have none of my own vegetables.

My favorite farmer is Rob Story in Chimacum, WA. He leads All One Family Farm that groups several small organic farms into a co-op and he delivers the produce to different points throughout the Eastside. His care for insuring fair prices and excellent produce is amazing. His compassion for a fellow chicken farm that burned down made him offer his website so that customers could symbolically purchase a chicken to help re-build their farm, their main income.
